Part One
2 Peter 3:9–The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
1 Timothy 2:4-6–“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
Ephesians 4:11–“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”
Proverbs 27:17–“Iron sharpeneth iron;So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.“
(As hard iron or steel will sharpen a knife, so a man may sharpen the intellect and the moral and spiritual life of another)
Romans 8:28-33–“And we know that all things work together for good ( but only if certain conditions are met) to them that love God ( the first condition), to them who are the called according to his purpose ( this means it’s “His Purpose, and not ours,” which is the second condition; otherwise, all things will not work together for our good ). 29 For whom he did foreknow ( God’s foreknowledge), he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son ( it is never the person that is pre-destined, but rather the Plan), that he (Jesus) might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called ( without the “Call,” man cannot be saved; sadly, many refuse the “Call” [Proverbs 1:24-33]): and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.”
Proverbs 1:24-29 —“Because I have called, and ye refused;I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel,And would none of my reproof:26 I also will laugh at your calamity;I will mock when your fear cometh;27 When your fear cometh as desolation,And your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish cometh upon you.28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; They shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:29 For that they hated knowledge,And did not choose the fear of the Lord.”
